Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab) is the United States’ premier particle physics  laboratory, located just outside Batavia, Illinois, near Chicago. Established in 1967, Fermilab is as of 2007 operated by the Fermi Research Alliance, a joint venture of the University of Chicago and the University Research Association (URA).

It’s 1,750 employees include scientist and engineers from all over the globe, who build world-leading accelerators and detectors to conduct some of the most progressive particle physics experiments.
